trippin all over

electronical rants

1st week into the new yr and catastrophe struck in the form of a dead harddisk - which was only juz 1.5yrs old!
It just decided to konk out on me 1 fine nite.
Dammit. Its definately a conspiracy lah. whatever electronic gadgets i have, it dies 1 way or another in my hands.

alrite, i better not jinx myself again - considering tt my now infamous cranky tv is kinda working again. yes, it's the same telly tt either has no sound when something appears, or nothing appears at all...( which at this moment - not working again) i should have wished for a telly last christmas.. damn.

back to that catastrophe - it isnt juz tt i have to spend an unbudgeted $561 to replace the damned hdd ( i know u can get it cheaper out there, but its a blardy mac n to save all the hassle n turmoil again - i got the apple folks to replace it for me). $561 buys me a 120gig hdd, a blardy 90 days warranty n my baby's back... but its not the same anymore! even after I've set the same color scheme, power saving mode, wallpaper as before ( u can say im either anal or in denial or both...) but its just not the same!! coz every single byte of data i had is freaking missing!

n i could have use the moolah for my much wanted dive trip! now the trip's on the back-burner again, unless of course, *pray* bonus is big n fat. but u know how it is.... I shouldnt have to be spending this sort of money! damn! tts wat i hate bout electronic gadgets - blardy expensive n forever cranky

but the worst part is.. i didnt back up my photos! my precious precious photos from my trips especially!
this is the most heartbreaking part... yes, i've got some of them online, but not ALL of them. n its just not the same. plus.. there are the other photos - photos that captured those moments, memories.. *wails* I WANT MY PHOTOS BACK!! ALL OF THEM!! *PRAYS REALLIE HARD*

n when u think tt nothing can top it... it costs 1.2k for the damned data recovery centre to try retrieve it!! It was reallie 1 of those WTF moments when i knew the costs involved. of course, me being me, i'm too cheapo to spend 1.2k to retreive them ( i would if 1.2k is spare change to me, but its blardy not!!) so... i'm reallie reallie praying that God does a technological miracle and my fren's fren can help retrieve the data in his sch lab's clean room n not fark it up. oh gawd... it seriously is heartbreaking, migraine-inducing. i actually did lose zzz over this. *sighs*

i'm so in my electronic-idiot/bimbo element here. i seriously hate it when my comp or anything electronic screws up. I'm a girl! I cant handle electronic/technological farkups/death. seriously! tt's y i've always been a pen n paper kinda girl. i mean, worst u get is smudged ink/yellowed paper...
